    SZ680 with T7700 2.4GHz says T7500 2.2GHz in Device Manager

    Can someone else with a SZ680 2.4GHz try this:

    Go to the Device Manager and expand the Processors branch. Mine shows:

    - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz
    - Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz

    But under Control Panel->System it shows the correct CPU. Strange.

    delete one of the cores in device manager, restart and it'll tell you it found new hardware and your real one will show up.

    repeat for other core.

    sony uses a standard image for all laptops. the image was probably made on a 2.2 ghz machine.

    I did what jc4ho said and now the correct CPUs show up. Not sure if it makes any difference though!

    thanks. same prob was also occuring with me but i didn't bothered as i have checked thru BIOS.
