I have a new SZ760 and was trying a clean install of my retail copy of XP.I had done the 'clean install' on my SZ650 without problems and all functions working with the XP drivers on Sony Support.
I'm not having the same results with the SZ760 though. I'm getting the 'update not for this model' message with Upek driver and the Intel Pro-Set Wireless driver.
I also noticed that Sony Support took down the 'Install Non-Sony' operating system guide.
Anyway I need XP for work apps. and as a last resort I popped in the XP Downgrade Disk that came with the unit.
I just wanted to report that I was most pleasantly surprised with the results. You get basically a minimally bloated OS with all functions i.e battery care, Vaio Update ect.
Sony also added a modified theme to this XP image that looks very muck like Vista Aero....very cool !
Please share your results with either of the aforementioned items and the SZ700 series.

The system is still loaded with bloatware just like the Sony Vista. The system is definitely faster even with bloatware. The camera utility is also less choppy from the Vista out of box version.
I also want to add that this version has the new UPEK software which can be used with firefox 3.0. But the same software can also be downloaded from Sony support and be installed on Vista.
SZ760 XP Downgrade Disk, Anyone use it yet ?
