    SZ770N/C XP downgraded recovery DVD couldn't boot !

    Newbie : My SZ770N/C (Vista build-in) come with and a Sony Vaio XP downgraded recovery disc but I cannot boot from it to recover XP , " BOOTCD : Couldn't find BOOTMRG " and then reboot Vista from hdd. Anyone can help me ? Thks for reading

    I have the exact same problem with my SZ750N/C !.....I don't know the answer either but perhaps someone can help us.

    Wow, maybe Sony have a problem for those discs when make it, like no other ! hic

    I did read in another thread someone was having the same problem, and the correct downgrade disks are on back order. I suggest calling Sony, and putting yourself on the wait list.

    You are correct !....I just called Sony and there is indeed an updated XP Downgrade Disk available.
    They are sending me one, so anyone else who runs into this problem, that's the answer.
