here are the pics... mind you i've really tried to show you the worst case scenario... the room has to be very dark and with a fully black screen lightened up to the max you can see this much... which honestly i don't see as a problem... but of course it's a personal choice...

sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience with these guys... dell is easier to work with simply because they know that their machines are faulty (m1330) and so they do anything to get rid of them... but it's a different story with sony...

honestly dude, when i was looking for a notebook, my main concerns were power, weight, 13" and battery life... and the only 2 machines i found matching my "needs" where the m1330 and sz780... also i was constraint by time and had to move quickly... my theory is that if you can wait and not have a notebook for a few months then you probably don't need it to begin with... it's an expensive product to buy and maintain with a very short life span...

anyway... best of luck to you! :)

D50: my line looks about the same at the bottom of the screen. really can't notice it during normal usage anyways.

D50: that's actually the line I was refering to and yours looks exactly like mine. Again its a very minor thing and I'm not too bothered by it if its meant to be built that way, which seems to be the case. I'm not sure what to make of TorontoGuyy and his claim that sony technicians said it's a defective feature.

BTW, thanks for uploading the pics.

oh ok... so that's the famous line! :) sorry i had not noticed it at all till you guys mentioned it... but it has to be under very special circumstances that you could see it... not with normal use... also the dot in the top right corner is not visible normally again and only showed in the photo when i took the picture...

sorry if i created false hope! :D

yes your was evidently more visible than mine... something interesting that might give you relief that you returned it :D i don't play games but a friend & i decided to test this machine and installed a game called Fifa 2008 and we tried it both on the speed mode and the stamina mode...

the speed mode was a disaster! kept on freezing... but the stamina when set to "High Performance" was excellent... so i'm guessing the speed mode is really useless... i wish they would have tested this first before producing and sending it to the market... what a waste of money (and weight!)

but overall it's a solid machine... you may want to look into the higher end Toshiba's... a bit more expensive but excellent built...

anything other than the consumer line of products that you see at bestbuy etc should be decent...

Anyone notice that most of the parts are out of stock?

I wonder what this could mean. I really hope it's not being discontinued or something....
