First post. I'm an IT Analyst trying to set up a SZ791N for an executive and need to downgrade it to XP to stay compatible with our current software. The recovery DVD included with this laptop didn't work and Sony tells me the correct one is backordered (figures). In the meantime, I have clean-installed XP Pro SP2 and loaded all the drivers from Sony USA's site. All devices work except the SigmaTel audio. I've loaded all kinds of drivers and the best I can get is one sound at startup then nothing until the next restart. Any suggestions as to which driver will work with this thing??? Also, where can I find Sony's software for XP? I'd like to get the hot keys, etc working as well. Thanks in advance!

Search the forums for sz 6xx series threads as well... they have almost identical driver sets and there are numerous forum users who have downgrade to xp on their sz6 series

    CORRECTION:

I got everything to work except the camera. None of the drivers included on the above thread work. Anyone have any ideas?

Having the 791 in hand... do you think the form factor looks dated?

I personally do, its now two years old, SZ first came out Jan 06, only thing that has really changed is the color. Don't think any form factor has lasted that long,
I liked the previous 13.3" S series that came out before the SZ, smaller footprint.

I don't think it's looks are anything special but the metal / carbon casing is nice. It still feels like a quality piece. Nobody beats Apple, however, when it comes to aesthetics.

How do I get this damn camera to work? Do I have to just wait for another driver from Sony?
