    Hey guys

I visited a sonystyle store and they had a SZ791N/S on display for 4 months that was on sale for 1745$.

The MSRP price for that model is actually 2499 on sonystyle.com.

Do you think this is a good deal considering that it was on for the last 4 months?

    Thank you.

    It's not a bad price.

Other options are the newer SR and Z series. SR is very cheap at new egg: Link. If you see what you get for $1299 it's a lot more bang for the buck in my opinion.

The SZ is being disontinued and replaced by the Z series.

It's a good price for the premium model but the keyboard on the SZ really isn't up to par with the rest of the (premium) components. If you're to willing spend that much you might be better off looking at one of the newer models. Another thing to consider is the possibility of failure in the SZ's graphics chipset. If you're buying on looks alone than your mind is probably already made up; maybe one day it will be a collector's item. Spec-wise it's already showing it's age. :(

Try to make a deal with them. I tried and suceeded only once. I looked for the manager and negotiate the price (100-200 off from the sale price) and that I will buy it now. If this laptop was closer to 1500 then it's a sweet deal, much better than paying 2k for the Z. However, if it's over 1800 after tax then I rather get the Z with newer processor.
