I have integrated graphics, never game, and it averages around 38-47 degrees celcius under basic tasks such as web browing; is this high? This is my first laptop and I don't know any numbers to compare it to :D

Nah, that's as good as it gets.

Make sure to check your fan/vents for dust every few months and you'll keep them that way :D

High safe range is 84-90C, usual idle temp can be anywhere up to 50-55 in my experience (for graphics cards).

Depending on weather, and on what program you're monitoring it with (temperatures vary) that's average, to a bit on the high side for idling. My T500's C2D says around 30-38 on idle, monitored with CoreTemp.

Just out of interest, does integrated mean integrated with the cpu itself?

As part of the chipset, the case of the FW, it most likely means the Intel 4500 GPU.

    Cheers,
