    Hi all

I'm trying to downgrade a VGN-NR430e to Windows XP but I can not find the sata drivers for it anywhere, to even begin the xp install.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks!

Is it the one with the T2390 CPU ?

If so, this is the SATA/AHCI driver needed for installing Windows XP Pro 32-bit.

You can integrate the sata driver with your xp cd using nlite or if you have a USB floppy drive, you can use that to load the driver during xp installation. To do this, extract the driver from the link to a floppy disk and restart the computer. Before you do this, make sure "external drive boot" is enabled in the BIOS.

When the blue screen of windows xp shows up, press F6 to load the driver from the floppy. It will take a minute or two before setup asks to load the driver. Press the S key to load the driver. The type of driver you need to load depends on your computer. To find which one is needed for your computer, go to Device Manager when you are still in Windows Vista, look under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller and look for the entry that begins with Intel. This is the type of driver that you need to load from the floppy. In my case, it is Intel ICH9M/EM SATA AHCI Controller but yours may be different so it is important to make a note of it.

Once you load the driver, you should be able to proceed installing Windows XP.
