Hey everyone I just wanted to make everyone aware of Sony's "Student" discounts. Really anyone can take advantage of the discounts which run up to $300 in savings.
All you have to do is configure ANY notebook to your liking, in addition to the notebook you must order a 3-Year Warrenty, a laptop case, and a mouse. I personally saved $200 dollars on my VAIO FZ190CTO. Although I called to place my order directly, I believe you can order online then call to have to have the discount enacted on your order. Check out this article about Sony Student discounts to find out more.

Best of luck everyone hope you find this useful!
EDIT: One more tip, you can trade-in an old laptop for a $100 credit plus the Trade-In Value of the laptop towards the purchase of a new VAIO. Even more savings!

Damn. I bought everything but the warranty with my CR. Oh well.

Do you have to call them, or does it work on the website?
And, do they not confirm where you go to school? -
I called to place my order. I told them what I wanted (all of the above) and asked them if I qualified for the discount. They said yes and told me how much I qualified for no questions asked.

Sony's giving Apple a run for their money aren't they? -
Would this student discount work in Canada also?
