Got my SB yesterday, and I'm loving it at the moment. I tried a few games on it last night MW3 and it sounded like an aeroplane taking off..
I haven't yet downloaded this BIOS update I wanted to check to see what outcome this has had for other people that have installed it already. Does it actually work and make the fan speed less noisy? Or does it seem the same?

Yes it helps a bit. But you should try the new 2085h4 bios version. The 2084 has some issues with the battery.

Oh sorry. It seems that Sony hasn't released the new bios for the SB yet. It is only available for the SA version at the moment. Perhaps you should wait for the 2085 and use the 2084 until it becomes available for your system.

If I do install the 2084 BIOS for SB what type of battery problems will I experience? I don't want to install it and sacrifice battery life for fan noise. The fan noise isn't really a problem doing 'normal' things. Infact, you can even game with Intel 3000 graphics to be honest. I've played MW3 without dedicated graphics on and there's no noise.

The battery issues isn't always present. And I don't know if it hits the SB or only the SA version. The issue is that sometimes (after standby, hibernation etc.) Windows will report that the battery is not present and shutdown. Another issue was with the sheet battery that if the sheet is attached the main battery wouldn't be present if it is at 100%. After reboot everything is fine again. Not everybody complained about those issues.

I had a look at system information last night and it seems that I already have this BIOS version. I did get my laptop on the 24th, so they may have upgraded it for me? as it was also configured.
