    Seek BIOS R0083N0 for SZ Japanese model

    Dear all,

    I had a copy of BIOS R0083N0 that I was about to flash my SZ with, but after deciding to take the plunge after a month of diliberation, it gives the informative error message: WBFLASH - Cannot read the system information.

    I have spent this evening trying to find a copy of it from Sony's website but it has remained elusive. The URL I have is http://vcl.vaio.sony.co.jp/support/note/vgn-sz90ps.html and I thought that there was a link from there. Unfortunatly, Bablefish refuses to translate the URL nor the text when copied and pasted into it:- This might be a problem with my laptop and not Bablefish.

    The question: Where can I get a copy of the latest BIOS for the Vaio SZ90?

    (Or SZ91 92 93 94 or 95 because I expect that these BIOSes will all work)

    PS. This BIOS is meant to address amoung other things:
    CPU Control becoming unstable
    The CPU workload reported in the Windows Task Manager is inaccurate.

    Nope, that won't work. The BIOS does a model check and refused to load because SZ90 is not in the list of systems supported by the BIOS on your link. I know this even without trying because I have been here afore, and some time ago tried to use the very URL you have suggested. If the model is not on this list then it won't load the BIOS: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-matrix.pl?upd_id=2249

    Summary:
    Sony BIOSes are tied to regions and model numbers.

    The same BIOS revision for the US cannot be installed onto a Japenese model.

    Anyone else know where I can find the BIOS?
