I have an opportunity to buy an SZ-110b for $1800 American Dollars. It's unopened and best of all it comes with the full insurance from Best Buy (Worth about 400). That covers repairs and even accidental damage like spilling coffee or soda on it. Since there really aren't any reviews of this laptop out yet. Okay well official reviews, I've been reading a lot on this forum. I was planning on getting the MacBookPro which I could have gotten for the Educational price of 1800. That's before California sales tax and an upgrade of ram. So it would end up being 2000 roughly. Well A few days ago it was announced that Vista would not run on EFI machines anytime soon. Being able to run Windows on the Macs was a big selling point. I wanted the high build quality of the macs, but at the same time I would have liked a dual boot machine. The only reason I really need Windows is for games.
So back to the SZ-110. It really seems like the Premium models are far better. For me I'm not really worried about the screen quality as much as I'm worried about the thing falling apart on me. The carbon fiber shells seem really great. I tend to be sorta rough on electronics (My poor poor Palm Treos) so I don't want a flimsy laptop. That's the main reason I didn't get an Acer Duo Core system which are extremely inexpensive. I'm looking for a laptop that won't break on me easily. I would have the insurance, but I don't want to go through weeks of Best Buy trying to fix the laptop if I don't have too. Keep in mind the SZ premiums are not at Best Buy. Im limited to what they have since I can return this laptop if I buy it for another one in stock at Best Buy. So I could end up getting a Macbook Pro once theyre in stock or I could buy it and not open it and wait for them to possibly carry a better model of the SZ. Or I could just open it and use it. Any advice would be great.
Should I buy a SZ-110
