I'm ready to take the plunge and buy either an VGN-SZ281P/X with VAIO® Carrying CaseVGN-SZ281P/XK1 priced at $3,199 or a Sony VAIO® SZ270P/C NotebookVGN-SZ270P/C priced at 2,499$. The question is is the SZ281 worth the 700$ or 800$ extra dollars? I really want the 2.0 processor. Is there anything that the Sz-281 has that the SZ270 dosen't have all I see is 2GB instead of 1GB and 2.0GHZ iinstead of 1.86GHZ.
P.S. Is sony planning to release a new SZ soon? or even a new 13 inched laptop? Just making sure cause I bout an FS returned it, then an S series and the SZ came out so I returned the S.

There isnt much of a difference between 1.83Ghz and 2Ghz though from 1.66Ghz to a 2Ghz there is a noticeable difference. I wouldnt even spend 300$ on 1.83 to 2 so I wouldnt suggest it.
There will be a SZ2 but all it seems to have is the 2.13 or faster processor, otherwise the same thing. -
Yea I wouldnt pay the extra 700 or 800 bucks, you can upgrade the ram and the cpu later when the merom comes out

EDIT: Looks like it is: Link -
- It isnt released in Canada yet.
Well there you have if there is SZ2 to what I have heard and I know quiet a bit there wont be a new 13.3" notebook for a while. -
