Hello,
I just purchased a Sony 11.1 Vgn-TXN27N With:
Core solo U1500 processers running at 1.3ghz
2GB RAM
100GB HD
I do not have any programs that can not run on Vista but my question is IF I downgrade to XP will it make the computer run better than what it will do running VISTA, and if so is it a big difference (mainly battery life). Any and all help is helpful.

yes faster and better battery life

Yeah, definitely if you are using an ultra portable.

Also it will take less space and less RAM.

Funny you should mention that. I have the same computer. I got tired of the randomness of Vista and the slow speed of everything. I installed XP and followed the thread to load the drivers and utilities. Everything works as it should and the computer is actually responsive.
I highly recommend the change. -
I have a TZ, and successfully downgraded to XP. Many thanks to this forum.
Everything works find. No Sony bloatware! -
Did you use Portable One's recovery disk that is mentioned on here or just do it yourself

My TZ is running on Vista (Too lazy to downgrade)
My SZ is running on XP
Should I downgrade to XP
