Cause after all the discount the SR CTO comes to 1095 with
2gb ram
P8600 2.4
250 5400 hd
ati 3470
sony had a total of 400 dollar discount. 200 dollar instant and 200 ecoupon.
What i m trying to say is, is it worth it? or should i wait for the next release of the SR, what could be in the new SR and not in the old one.
-
I was just about to post the same question. I wonder if sony has anything in store for blackfriday?
-
same here, cause 1095 is the perfect price for the SR for me right now, its i would be pretty sad if this deal never comes back. but then i kinda want to see how the 3rd series of SR is gonna be like.
-
Why do you americans have so much deals! In Canada the best deal Sony gives out is a freaking 100 dollar discount...
-
Yeah I don't recall the SR ever having a better deal than this. But i could be wrong. Anyone want to clarify?
-
-
-
That does look like a pretty good deal. If I didn't already have my SR, I'd definitely jump on it. Here's the thing: There are always going to be refreshes in the future and price drops, especially since the laptop world is so fast moving. In the end, it comes down to when you'd like to have the laptop in your hand and when it fits your budget!
-
Well, SonyStyle does have 30-day price guarantee, so if it has a BF deal (unlikely, BTW), you can just call and request a credit. I got my price match credit showed up in the credit card in about 5 business day.
-
What else could they refresh the sr in future with? faster processors, ddr3 ?

...Canadians unite!
Well... compared to Dell Canada which only ever gives 50 and 100 off Vostros and Inspirons, at least I found a 10% off coupon on everything over 1499.99... except CTOs.
Check redflagdeals.com for the 5% and 10% off sonystyle.ca coupons my fellow Canadians! -
ya no cto deals in canada, almost like they don't care. and the laptops are also made in the US. :/
-
Yea... well... I'm kinda iffy on the whole Sony CTO thing.
The Z555DNB has everything I want pretty much, and nothing that'd I'd really change, so I've decided to just go for it, whereas the SRs always seem to have one or two quirks that make me want to CTO em, so I don't mind not being able to CTO. -
You cannot use those coupons on CTO. It really gets me... anyways we should seriously contact their services and tell them about the unfair promotions we have in Canada compared to US.
-
We should.
However, I'd say Dell treats us worse. We get "20% off" coupons on what?
The crappy old stock clearance items, never the new stuff, or nicer quality stuff.
At least with Sony, those coupons from redflagdeals.com will work on nearly everything, I feel more appreciated as a customer of Sony than I ever did from Dell. -
What coupons did you use? I've been looking at an SR for my wife and a shade above $1000 is an excellent deal as far as I'm concerned.
-
i got the coupone, but how i get instant discount of another 200$ ?
-
where are these coupons and instant disc at ? thx

OMG>>>>>>> 400 dollars off a VAIO Sr! That is almost lower than cost price I presume. If their target profit is 20%-->1500-1500X0.2(Profit)=Cost price --> 1300, your fu... ******* lol. And yes, most notebook computers have a profit margin of 20% on their laptops (includes all sales reps, marketing, dev cost, etc) So your a lucky sob, and i am not offending you. GO GET YOUR sr now!
-
Can someone PLEAse buy a sony vaio 2.4ghz, 2 gigs of ram,160, intergrated graphics for me with the 400 dollar off. I will send you Sony Vaio Sr 210D. PLease contact me if you can!!!!!!!!!! Just buy that with the config, and i will send you a Sony Vaio 2 series (brand new, purchased last week). Because if i want that configuration i have to pay them 15% restocking fee, plus pay 200 more for the config, which is totally gay. It's almost christmas, you buy the config and i will send you the 210D!
-
I live in Canada, the land of the NO good deals from any vendors.
-
If you need the laptop and it's within your price range buy it. I bought the Vaio Sr 190, the new series came out and I returned the old...now i'm without a laptop. Obliviously you don't need this for school, seeing that the semester is almost over. I say, if want a good deal, wait (a little more wouldn't hurt). There is a chance that there will be a 50% off performance upgrade, plus that $200 off could increase to $300 (that's what happen with the 190).
but if you're going to buy now and you are a student, make sure to apply for their campus discount. You could get up to an extra 10%.
If you do decide to buy, I hope you enjoy it. I really like the SR when I had it in my hands. -
i m in no rush to get it, and i m still a junior at a high school, however it is 200 under my price range, the part that is making me unsure the most is if suddenly sony adds hybrid graphics to the SR, cause 3.5 hours is kinda little.
BTW the 200 off coupon ends on the 27th which is thanksgiving. and the 200 instant one, i m not too sure, but probably on the 27th also. -
-
sorry I am not being a smart guy, but the 200 off instantly is on the t5800, you notice that with the others 8400, 8600 etc the discount is not as much.
