I can't seem to game on my vaio z. Yes i'm trying to run Crysis. stab me.

I even run it stock settings but I have the 2.8Ghz i7 chip.

my cpu just skyrockets to 91c since both the nvidia and that is running at a high level of performances and i know the z is sharing the heatsink for all the devices, but damn.

i think i'm going to have to try and undervolt that cpu and see how much degrees i can shave off

i wonder if there is any artic silver paste in there.. hm

Probably been said before, but the Z doesn't get that hot anyway. It may get a bit hotter than some similar notebooks, but it's one of the smallest there is so something to expect.

Undervolting is pretty much impossible as far as i know (even with unlocked bios), but why you would want to do that anyway. Arrandale and Sandy Bridge (i5/i7's) already have a very low voltage and they clock down speed + voltage more when you're doing less on your notebook).

You're acting like it's the hottest one around, but there are way more notebooks that go past 100c. Most notebook items (processor/gpu) can even go up to 110c. So the Z is perfectly safe and well within limits.

Actually, 91°C is probably around the highest you will ever get. I have my GPU overclocked slightly and it always stays within the 92°C region whilst playing games.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your #'s...it's within the spec of the CPU. I think Sony's shutdown temp for CPU is 105, which is the maximum operating temp of that CPU.
