I was going to get a 12.1" Fujitsu with built in DVD drive (sub 3 lbs, excellent screen) but changed the last minute and went with a top of the line Sony Z. one reason is that I figure it will play better with Sony AVCHD video files that we shoot, and have much more computing power to edit.

    So question:

    1. Does Sony Z come with some rudimentary software to edit Sony AVCHD files ? I was just going to pop in the Sony memory card into the laptop and start editing after moving the files

This is a current Z with bluray, Win Professional 64, etc.

    2. If not, what software would you recommend that is low cost? All I really need to edit is the Sony AVCHD - and doing basic cuts and paste with limited transition.

    Thanks!

ps: One more freebie question.... :) How accurate is the screen color for photo editing via Photoshop? It claims 100% gamut but this may mean nothing - just the max end of the color range but accuracy may be back. Checking with those of you who may know.

    Thanks!
