When I ordered CTO FW-190 on 1st October, XBRITE-HiColor was $100 more than ECO screen. And also Extended battery was $100 more than Standard battery. But today when I checked, both are reduced to $90. So I can ask Sony for rebating this amount now?

Sony does not price match on CTO models. I still suggest you call up and complain however.

Since the FW190 is Configure-To-Order anyway, do you guys think its possible to ask the sales associate if you can get the HD3650? It's a custome order anyway...And you can get a great deal.

I'm sure when they're building the notebook, it won't be that big of a problem for them to put in the HD3650.

The thing is, the FW290 CTO has too big of a resolution. Otherwise, it is not that different from the FW190 CTO.

    Any ideas?

one can always try but then perhaps the associate might not know if its even possible. worth a shot.

I have just called them that and they said that there is no way for them to override it. So, we are stuck to whatever they have in the site.

That's too bad. I was really hoping that it would work. Why is Sony making things so complicated!

Let's hope that Sony representatives are looking at these threads...

I did tell them that I would like to return my FW190. I think the problem is they can not change whatever is it on the computer screen. They said that if there were a way to override it, they would have done it since they would have gotten a commission.

Anyway. If someone manages to get FW290 with HiColor screen from the US, please share your trick to the forum. I need to know the trick within 30 days since my FW190 has just arrived.

I would've gotten the new FW290 CTO, if only it wasn't for the high resolution screen.

As for the FW190 CTO, I would have gotten it a long time ago, if it wasn't for the weak graphics card. If only the graphics card wasn't soldered to the motherboard, I would have replaced it with the HD3650.

Who knows? Maybe Sony will listen, and will add an option for a 1600x900 resolution, Hi-color screen on the FW290 CTO. It's still a possibility.
