    Hi all,

    My version is a SZ1VP/CEK (2GHz Centrino duo, 1Gb RAM, 120Gb HDD).

So I recovered via the disks (removing the recovery partition) - and removed them on reboot.

    It then gave me:

From which I did a CTRL-ALT-DEL to get the task manager and went into processes, then killed VARU.EXE.

Then I ran regedit and deleted APPInstaller as below:

The result is a semi-clean bootable S1VP with the following software:

The boot time of the 2GHz S1VP is 1min 20seconds, still double the time of my TR2 which comes in at 40seconds (clean XP + drivers)!

What is the boot time others are getting on the SZ with semi-restore?

    Thanks,

    Ken
