when all there drivers are already available on the Sony Support website at http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNSZ120PB&UpdateType=Original

I see all these threads going up on problems with rebooting etc, am I missing something here...as im getting my SZ next week I want to be sure :)

I know its to remove the bloatware, but I can reboot my current HP in an hour with no problems, and doesnt matter in what order I install the drivers.

No troubles here. I just took the preinstalled operating system, uninstalled a half dozen or so bloatware items I didn't want, left the rest, and the system has been responsive and 100% rock solid. Everything works as it should, no troubles.

I had a problem shutting down/rebooting, but it was due to the Norton Anti Virus that came preinstalled. I removed it, and replaced with PC-Cillin. Smooth sailing since...

Yeah I wont be rebooting, just uninstalling the bloatware to the max extent that I can.

    Thanks all.

I think you mean "reinstalling". But yeah, I figure the total clean reinstall is, for the most part, a waste of time... And once you've uninstalled the unneeded system intrusive stuff, like Norton, the rest is either actually needed for proper operation, or are just plain old applications that don't affect the performance of the system either way.

No... rebooting means, well, restarting the system. Which has nothing to do with reinstalling the operating system, as indicated by half the responses to this thread :)

I had my problem with Norton AV too, removed it and the blue screen went away ...

Oh and I tried installing Sony Vaio Fan control driver from a japanese site, as expected, screwed up my windows installation untill I removed it /safe mode. Good piece of advice: dont try it however frustratd you are with the fan :D
