Well after little of a year I sold my SZ160p. I'm getting the Asus G1. Different class as its bigger now. I wanted something with a better graphic chipset to run my new games. I wish they made a small form factor computer with a 7700+ nvidia card in it.

C-ya guys in the Asus areas.

Good luck. Honestly I can't imagine buying a G1 now with the updated model with a GeForce 8600 and Santa Rosa coming out in May/June, but it's up to you.

You're really going into another realm in terms of size and weight though - and the G1 is one of the heavier and larger 15" notebooks (it's a cool notebook, but it's pretty far from the portability of the SZ).

But yeah, if gaming is the priority, you're going to have to go to a bigger notebook like that.

Will be interesting to see what DX10 GPU goes in the next SZ though; given the performance improvements with the GeForce 8600, perhaps the lower-end GeForce 8400 will be closer in performance to the GeForce 7600/7700, which would be pretty close to what you're asking for (something with the power of a GeForce 7700 but in a smaller form factor).

Will the G1 be updated soon when the DX10 comes out with a better graphics card?

MilestonePC and PROportable have been saying the Santa Rosa G1 with a DX10 GeForce 8600 Go should be due in Mid-June or so.

How much will the price go up and will it make a big difference in playing games like BF2142?

I would personally expect price points to be similar. I would venture to say that the GeForce 8600 should allow you to play BF2142 at higher resolutions with more details and better image quality and more FPS.

But we won't know for sure until these machines come out and people actually get a chance to play games with them.

In particular I don't think a whole lot is known about the performance levels of the mobile GeForce 8600. I've seen a few people say it is comparable in performance to the GeForce 7900GS (which would be pretty impressive in a 15" laptop), but I don't know if there is anything to substantiate it. But it makes sense.
