    1. How loud are the speakers?

    2. How sensitive is the touchpad? Is it adjustable?

    3. is there a scrolling function on the touchpad?

    4. Will upgrading the RAM and HDD void my warrenty? Normally I would assume not, wth, why not ask

    5. Why version of Vista premium do I get when I order (32 bit or 64 bit)? And if 32, how do I change it to 64?

    1) Not sure, sorry..
    2) It's sensitive enough .. haven't tried wearing gloves or anything...not sure what you mean.
    3) Yes, same as most other laptops though I don't think it's marked.
    4) RAM - probably not as its under a single cover on the underside... HDD requires a more rigorous procedure, so I'm not sure about that.
    5) .. probably 32-bit, and you can change it by getting a 64-bit Windows Anytime Upgrade disk (not sure where now, but CompUSA had those for like $10, at least before the retail stores went out of business), and then installing 64-bit Vista with the same key the computer came with. Don't ask me if it works with Sony's OEM version of Vista, but that's how you would change 32-bit into a 64-bit Windows on a regular computer. Alternatively, I think there are guides on this board to doing that without the Anytime Upgrade disk.

    I doun't know about 1,
2, touch pads are all adjustable, they are like mice.
3, there should be, I haven't seen a recent laptop with no scolling area on their touch pads.
    4, dunno
5, dunno, but I do know that you can't change it, codes are completely different.

Are they, for the preinstalled OEM versions? On my desktop, I installed 64-bit Vista using the same exact code I received with a 32-bit version, and I had no issues with that.

With my SZ i'm sure i was told that upgrading the RAM voided the warranty, i'm positive that upgrading the harddrive will, but i'm not completely sure on the Z for ram.
