I just about had a heart attack when poking around in device manager I saw my processors identified as T7300 when I paid a hefty chunk of change to upgrade to T7700. However, the windows system identifies it correctly. Screen caps are below.

Would someone else who has a T7700 machine please let me know what yours says.

Get the cpu identifying utility from intel and check it.

Notebook hardware control is showing a T7700 at 2394 MHz. So that's making me feel better.

The first thing I thought of was the Intel identifier, so I downloaded it. But it only wants to install itself on a 1.44 MB floppy drive. Who even has one of those anymore? So I'm going to CompUSA on my way home to pick one up.

But I'd still like to hear someone else's experience. This is my second FZ190 and I think I would have noticed if the first one had this problem. Too bad it was shipped back only this morning.

OK, CPU-Z is also showing a T7700. That's quite a cool little utility, thanks for suggesting it.

Just to finish out this story, I went into the Device Manager and deleted one of the processors. After that it had to reboot, and when it came up Windoze found the missing processor and identified it correctly. After the driver install was finished, I looked in the Device Manager and it was showing one T7700 and one T7300. So, just to be safe, I rebooted again. After that I repeated the cycle on the remaining processor and now it is showing two T7700s.

    Whew!

I think it means that the pre-loaded windows was set up for a T7300 processor...
