Ok. This may seem odd but somehow something is bouncing around in my fan. I contacted Sony and they said it voids my warranty to take my laptop apart and I need to send it in. Well, I need my laptop everyday for school so that's not an option. What can I do to get whatever it is out of my laptop? Can they tell if I just go ahead and open it? When I shake my laptop I can hear it bouncing around. Maybe a screw came loose or something inside I don't know.

    Model is VPCCW13FD.

    Any help is appreciated.

Are you sure its located in the fan area? Is it hitting the fan blades?

I would try to blow it out with compressed air first.

Air didn't work. Maybe I am wrong and it's not the fan though. It doesn't constantly get kicked around inside there, only sometime I'll hear something hit it and it sounds like it's the fan blades hitting it. It sounds like a little piece of plastic or maybe even a screw.

I guess there is no way but opening the device. Take care or let someone open it who has experience with that and nobody will ever know that you "voided" your warranty.
