Hello. I am new here and looking for assistance. I have a Sony VPCEE42FX and a cracked screen. Before I took the old screen out, it would light up. I have since tried 2 screens but neither would backlight. The last one i sent back, they tested and said was good. He told me that I may have popped a fuse for the backlight. I need to locate that fuse and replace? I have the back off, looked at the cable connector and cant find a fuse. Is it on the other side of the mobo? or where on these models?
    Thanks so much.

Take a hi-res photo of both side of the board around the LCD connector and post here, I will probably let you know where the fuse is.

    Hi Experts
I have a Sony TX2XP laptop, the screen cracked and I thought a simple replacement of the LCD screen would solve the problem so I bought one from Ebay and plugged it in ( without removing battery ). The backlight failed to come on so I tried plugging in the old cracked screen which although was cracked did have a working backlight, but this no longer worked

Could an expert please look at my attached images and tell me which fuse I need to bridge.
