I wish to purchase a Sony VAIO A290 to use in Australia (DVD Region4)but I have heard the DVD Region code on the A290 is manufactured to Region1(US) ONLY and cannot be changed to ANY other Region. I know for a FACT that the A190 model could be changed. All laptops sold in Australia can also be changed on initial setup too. (Normally shipped as Region1 default and Region setting can be altered 4 times only (max) in 'Settings'.
Can anyone advise me if the Region Code on the A290 CAN easily be changed on setup?
    Thanks

"AnyDVD is a driver, which descrambles DVD-Movies automatically in the background. This DVD appears unprotected and region code free for all applications and the Windows operating system as well."
