Does anyone have a new Sony AR notebook with RAID? I have one without RAID and am wondering if I can setup RAID on this. The problem is I don't see it in the BIOS or during POST. I hope I am missing something and they didn't disable it in the BIOS when the hardward clearly supports it.

    Thanks,
    Brian

The 370 and 270 seem to on their website also. I would think they all use the same motherboard to keep costs down, so I'm just trying to find someone that has one and see if they can help me figure out how it's configured.

    Thanks,

yes u can set up raid as soon as u have 2 hdd install in the raid array
    just turn on the computer
go to start>all program>intel matrix storage control
then it will have 2 option for u
    raid0 or raid1
    choose whatever u like

thanks titan, does this mean that Sony is using software RAID? that seems kind of risky for the RAID 0 solution that they're selling. i have only dealt with hardware solutions where you setup the RAID volume in the BIOS and then install the OS on the RAID volume.

    thanks,
    Brian

I tried putting 2 drives in my computer, but no luck. There is not option in the BIOS for RAID and the Intel Matrix Storage Console has no RAID option. It just shows the disks with "No actions available" for anything I click on. I guess that even though the chipset supports it, Sony has decided to lock out the RAID functionality. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to try them.

    Thanks,
    Brian
