Audio over HDMI connection was working for Windows Media Center. I installed Vista ultimate. I could get the picture, but not audio when I connected my laptop to Sony TV via HDMI. Does anyone know what to set? I could see HDMI checked in Control Pannel --> Hardware and Sound --> Sound Reality Control. But, I did not get the sound. Any clue?

I had this problem as well with an upconverting DVD player and a LCD TV.
What I did was rout the audio through component cables (thus analog) and it was fine.
This is what I heard from the CNET forums - that the HDMI spec is not standardized across all machines, and because of this digital audio suffers from consistency issues. It works on some devices, not others. -
Perhaps, Sony must be working to release new drivers. The 64-bit version is in bad shape.
