Anyone heard or seen this before? Every now and then, perhaps 30 secs, perhaps 5 minutes there's a subtle screen flicker. Can't see it on dark images, but bright pages like this one there's a subtle hue change, red or greeny, just a bias in the colour for split second, then it's gone.

Tried rolling back the drivers (updated today). Only got the laptop today. Does it on AC and battery...

    Support job?

I had the same problem. I replaced the laptop and again the same problem.. It is so subtle that the technicians couldn't spot it... Did you have any luck with the support?

I've got that problem too on a AW11XU. They gave me a new driver, and its made the problem better, but you can still see the flicker now and then.

Is there anyone with an AW11XU that isn't having this problem?

Check the vaio-link.com and find the drivers update. There is a BIOS fix that fixes the problem. It was posted there on the 2nd of February. I have installed and everything is ok now. http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/down.../Updates/EP0000173330.exe&ip=EP0000173330.htm.

ta... your a lovely man :D

i wonder why vaio update didn't tell me :)

same as everyone else, support 'couldn't see it'... this was the only reason i returned a unit that was a warranty return... in other words this cost me £200 more than it needed to because sony uk support have their head up their arse...

Thats the update I done, but im sure it still does it. Maybe its me expecting it to do it, but im pretty positive? I wonder if anyone else notices it after the update.

The problem is definately a bit better though, but when reading something on a white background with the screen dimmed I sometimes see a red "scan", almost like the red is slightly out of sync with the rest of the colours.

Is this BIOS update for AW only? The description doesn't mention for which model it applies.
