I'm not asking for a serial number -- just in case anyone thinks something is fishy here.

I brought a BX-540 but I decided not to keep it without even opening the box. I also brought an HP printer with a rebate but it needs the serial number. What do the Sony BX serial numbers look like? I've got a bar code on the outside with one number like this:

    P283xxxxxx
    S01xxxxxxx%

Is the S... number the serial number?

My reasons for not returning it is I had already started the trade in program and the reasons I don't want to keep it is bad battery life and I decided I want a higher resolution screen. Otherwise it seems like a decent laptop from the reviews.

The S one is the serial number.
