    Hi

Can anyone suggest a make/brand of good quality 6/9 cell replacement notebook/laptop batteries for the Sony Viao Y series (and other series if possible) that goin to give me 5+ hours of medium usage.

Sony laptops have a bad reputation for having very little battery life usage.

Help and info shall be greatly appreciated from this rather confused philosopher.

    Thanks A Lot!!!!!!

Depends of your use of a laptop...
No battery will give you 5+Hours of HD video watching / heavy gaming.

My vaio Z 9 cells battery hardly go under 6hours when I'm on the web and using MS office using intel GPU.

The Y series with Intel graphics should be good for over 5hrs with the standard battery using medium settings. Some owners are getting more than that with the model with a dedicated gpu. Check out the Y series owners thread, you'll find the owners lounge at the top of this forum.

With Sony laptops the battery life you get depends on the spec/battery rating of your laptop.

Some laptops come fully tweaked out of the box for best battery life and that is not the case with Sony laptops but it takes all of 2 minutes to tweak it yourself.
