    Hi,

I'm looking for some advice - I currently have a Dell M1210, which is perfectly fine. My only issue would be that I'd quite like a bigger screen. To this end, I've been looking at the Sony Vaio C1Z/B, which here in UK comes with a GO 7400. A bonus.

I have also heard a few issues with the C-Series, such as noise emission and space bar problems.

Can anyone give me an informed opinion on the better of these laptops? I am really a Word intensive user (research student) - so clarity of screen, responsive laptop, and a good keyboard are important.

    Thanks.

Later C series models do not have the spacebar problem. I had the c260e and it had no issue with the space bar. I had a c140 with XP and that had a spacebar issue, but it was a marginal problem. It makes a small static noise that can only be heard in quiet areas and only happens under use of the battery. Other than that, the C was flawless. It is also very well built and a computer I would consider for someone who does alot of traveling. However, for 13.3 inches, the computer may be as heavy as a lighter 14.1 inch computer.

Thanks for your reply. Would you mind telling me how you found the keyboard - was it quiet, comfortable? And was the screen strong? Thanks.

it was actually the best keyboard you will probably ever use, it was defintely my favorite. Extremely comfortable with great feedback. Prolly the best keyboard Sony has come out with. I thought it was far superior than lenovo's keyboard. Noise was also minimal compared to my SZ. The screen was ok. the have the xbrite-eco. The viewing angles aren't too good but the screen is very bright.
