    Hi there,

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-CR123e\b that came with a Vista Home Edition in a single partiton.

I have a Vista Professional CD and I'm planning to format my notebook, create another partition and make a vista professional clean install.

What drivers do I need to download before doing this reinstall?

    Thanks

Vista Home and Professional editions don't exist. What is the exact type of disc you have? Didn't Sony give you a recovery disc with os + drivers?

Are you keeping the old install or completely erasing your disc?

I'm sorry. I have Windows Vista Home Premium running right now and I have a Windows all in one DVD. I want to install Windows Vista Ultimate.
I think the DVD has only the OS with no drivers.

I didn't get any recovery disc from sony when I bought my refurbished notebook from amazon.

    I can erase my disc.

    Thanks

i recently reinstalled my CR590 CTO OS.
i really wanted to partition my 225GB HDD (233 total with 8 GB for recovery part) into 100 and 125 GB parts. I didn't even required any recovery dvd since i used recovery partition on my HDD and it did everything for me. only took less than 1 h to finish everything. now i have a very clean system with 100 GB for Vista and 125 GB partition for my own data storage. Recovery partition is still there intact.

I can't do that because I want to upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate or Vista Business. I need to know if the drivers are easy to find and re-install. Thank you anyway.
