I'm headed back to school to get my MBA degree. I will work on excel a lot, word etc. I will do some pictures. I am not interested in games. I would like a 14" screen, at least 200 GB hard drive (preferably 250), and 2 - 3 GB memory. It has to be reliable since I will be transporting it everyday from home to school and back.

Originally, I was looking at Sony VAIO CR but heard not a lot of good comments on the forum. But a friend of mine says that their support services are good.

So what do you think? Everybody seems to be recommending ThinkPad or Dell. Yesterday someone mentioned Toschiba. I'm seriously getting a headache. Are they all good and is it just a matter of personal preference? Or are some better than others? Help!

You should only get a Sony if youre looking for a stylish laptop.

If youre lookin for function like that, look elsewhere. Probably Lenovo if youre really business-y

The Lenovo Thinkpad range are very professional-looking and quite rugged for being taken to campus every day. The keyboards on Thinkpads are the best you can get...
But compared to the Sony Vaio range they are rather dull-looking. (I actually quite like the plain black boxy look, but you should make sure you like it too!)
