Hi, i recently saw the cr at sale on circuitcity. Seems like an excellent deal, (-$250) the only problem, is that i can only see the blue color offered. my color of choice is white. does anyone know if they only have the blue one, or they just didn't upload all of the other colors to their website? Thanks!

They only carry indigo/blue at Circuit City.

I was able to buy the Sangria (red) one at Best Buy and have them price match it to Circuit City's price, plus 10% off - however, it was a pain the butt and I had to really push it. The only reason they did it was because they carry indigo on their website. They kept trying to make a big deal out of the color difference, even though they have a huge poster in their computer section advertising the laptop in "5 different colors."

I'm not sure if you ordered white online at bestbuy.com if you'd get it in time to price match it with the current CC sale, but you could try.

Is this a web only deal? I'd much prefer white or red over the indigo. Could I just print out the website showing the price and bring it Best Buy?

No, it's not web-only. It's on sale for $1099 in their store. You can just go inside and buy the Sangria from Best Buy, but it's $1349, and you have to really haggle with them to price match it to Circuit City's price on the Indigo one. They act like the color makes a huge difference, even though it doesn't - it's akin to buying a certain color ipod, the specs and price is all the same.

I was able to get them to pricematch the Sangria, but it took a lot of pointing out the obvious. It was worth it for me for the great discount, so good luck. I got mine for about $1074 +tax, which was a great deal.

    In store, it's like this:

Best Buy - Sangria/Red only. All other colors available online. Current price: $1349.99.

Circuit City - Indigo/Blue only. No other colors available online. Current price:
    $1099.99.

Price matching is YMMV, but I made them do it.

They just don't have them online. I just got my Sangria Red one from BB for $1259 with the anything goes wrong service plan. The guy in the back was like sorry, it's the wrong color can't do it. So I said whatever and went to customer service and flirted with the girl a little bit and she didn't say a word =)

    Woot woot!

EDIT: Best Buy had all four colors available as well. They had Blue, Red, White, and Pink in stock.

Congrats! I was able to get them to match it as well. I think I am going to purchase extended insurance directly through Sony, though.

On which city ? I'm going to McAllen, TX i don't think they will have all the colors there, it's such a small town. is the sangria better looking than the indigo? in every picture the color seems to change. do you know where i could find real pictures of these colors?

    Amazon.com has Dove/White for $1199 AR.

Still a little bit more than the sales, and you'd have to do a rebate, but that saves you $150 at least.

Well, I'm going to call them tomorrow because I just realized I didn't get the additional 10% off. If they give me that too, it drops down to like $1100 with the coverage :D

Also, I think BB has a better warranty service simplty because you don't have to call them and go through a bunch of crap. I got the two year on my Creative Zen Vision:M for $30 and they said if ANYTHING happens (even if I do it on purpose), just bring it back, and they'll give me a new one or a refund if it's no longer in production. Plus I'm not very keen on Sony's customer service because they do suck in that department a little more than I like IMO.

Lol, am I the only one there with a blue CR?

Its nothing what It looks in the pictures.

Its a really really dark blue where it seems like its a black at first.

Overall, I thought I was unlucky that Best Buy only carried red ones when I wanted Blue ones when they were on sale, but now you want the white when the blue ones are on sale.

I like the Indigo one quite a bit. I just thought it'd be fun to have something a little flashy for my first Vaio.

All in all, I think the notebook is worth the money to me so far.

If any of you are in love with a particular color, just get it. The money you save or don't save won't matter in a few months and you'll be happy for (potentially) years if you get the color you desire.

Well, just FYI. The Best Buy's around here (both of them) had all four colors, so I'm sure the ones where you guys live will get them soon as well if they don't already have them.

Well, i'm now writing from my new WHITE (yei) CR... i just got it today at Office Depot. went to CC to get the blue one at a discount, but the guy told he just sold the last one 15 mins ago. can you believe that? I ended up buying at regular price on Office Depot- the only store that had the mighty white color!! i'm loving it... but i do have to say that the battery does move a little, even when locked. i'm kind of worried, 'cause i didn't get any warranty plan. It was a lot of $ for me. You guys that already own a CR, you are not getting any battery wobble at all?

I get a very slight wobble, maybe a centimeter movement at the most. It seems to me there is no chance of the battery falling out, especially since I have no reason to unlock it as I only have one battery.

The "wobbly" battery issue seems to have been something Sony laptops have had for a while..... my old S360 had it, as did my SZ460.

One tip I recall many people mentioning was getting a velcro strip and attaching it to the battery; this basically acted as something that kept the battery from "wobbling around". I never tried it myself, but it sounds like it normally worked well.

yes, i may be looking for something to keep it from moving around, even if it's just for a cm. i agree, i don't think it moves enough for the laptop to be powered off, but still, it takes the sturdy feeling away, and it makes me to be too cautious when moving with my laptop.
