im deciding between the Sony Vaio CW Series or the Sony Vaio E Series

i do work in Video Editing, Graphic Design, Flash Website Design, GTA, COD, NFS Gaming, and watch HD movies

    my budget is $1000

which laptop has the better body of the two[palmrest, lid, keyboard (spacing), and overall quality. Can you please explain
i like a laptop with a nice and sturdy and a solid feel, i hate the cheap plastic feel as the CR has, and does the weight just feel heavy or does it help with the solid feel and is it balanced(i dont mind the weight i just like it feeling strong)

and in which would i get better specs for under $1000?

and how is the cooling on both?

Vaio E, because you can choose 1920x1080.

VAIO E if I could get it with the 1920 x 1080 screen and because it's available in a matte finish.

Is that 1920 x 1080 only out side of US, US only has EB at the moment and it doesn't offer that resolution as an option under CTO.

Correct, Sony Style U.S.A. does not offer 1920 x 1080 at this point for the EB series, even though other countries do. But as OP asked, my pick by far would be the E over the CW if it did. Perhaps soon.

    Would be nice to see.

I would love to see either CW or EB offering

    i5-540m or i7-620m
    Nvidia GT 330m
    1600x900 HD resolution or better

Honestly, for what you plan on using your laptop for, I would try to go for the E to get the larger screen real estate. In the US, for whatever reason, we aren't getting the high res screen for now, so I went for the CW. If you can purchase in the UK, then get the E.

i like the 330 gpu in the cw. if they get a 330 gpu and high rezz on the E it would spark my interest.

The non-US version of E series is better than CW spec. It has 1080P resolution.

    CW here

Only because anything bigger than a 14" chassis is just too BIG for me.

I played with the new E today next to the CW. I would definitely choose the new E with full HD screen and ATI 5650. I was pretty impressed with the new E.

I wonder why the E in usa is not the same. it has a refreshed cpu. just a crappy gpu and crappy screen res. I would defiantly choose the E over the CW if the specs were the same in the usa.

Price. Median Joe earns ~$25,000 per year.
