    Hi,

I recently had very bad experience with Sony Customer Care to ask for price-guarantee. (This is a different issue, but interested readers can read my thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=329972) I understand that this might just due to the extraordinally large volume of customers they have now....

I am considering whether to return the laptop and buy from another brand. One big factor is how good the customer service of Sony is if my laptop has problems. For example, are they willing to replace the problematic parts with new ones if there are problems with my new laptop, or they just try to repair it and then I need to resend the laptop back and forth many times if the problem persists? How fast normally they will handle the problems? Any experience sharings are appreciated....

    Thanks a lot again.

    Yee Kan

Well, I have mentioned in dawn777's thread tha price match, while part of customer service, is handled by a specific department. If you encounter technical difficulty, it would be a different department and you experience may be different.

And truth be told, afte 8 years of using different Sony laptops, I have yet to require a call to technical service yet.

For repairing computer normally takes 7-10 days and they replace new parts not refurbs.after 30days of using the computer and you want to return it need to be send to repair facility if unit is for replacement because as what we now sony has 30 days return policy. And also just to add up the tech department of sony is 888-476-6972

My battery on my SZ71VN/X failed after 2 weeks - bad luck really.

I had a positive experience with customer service - nothing I can complain about.
