I recently acquired a refurbished Z11 and looked to update a driver that was clearly out of date and found the drivers on the Sony site for the model version I have were all created before the manufacture date. Nonetheless I replaced my driver with a more recently created driver on the page for a Z13 model and it worked like a charm. So, my question is, would it make sense to update all/most of my drivers from the Sony driver page of a later version of the Z - and if so, how would I pick which later model? - or should I only do this (as is my general practice) when something is not working right? Thanks much.

The adage 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' is very good advice. However, certain applications, especially games, need the improvements and bugfixes found in newer drivers. By all means stick with the stock drivers, but keep in mind that if a problem is indeed encountered, a newer driver might fix it.

A follow-up: I know there are long threads about BIOS hacks and installing Optimus capability in their Z, but will I get the main benefits of driver improvements if I just install a later version of the nVidia drivers, from a Z13 driver list? Thanks again. NBR rocks!
