    Hey,

I am having a sony E series laptop.

Within 2 months of its usage (so its still is warranty), the touchpad have become really bad now. When it was new the tocuhpad has a rough textured area with little dots elevated on its area all over. Now the touchpad has given really flat where I touch it, because of this many times my cursor is giving erratic/random movements.

Plus right side i.e hinger area (of laptop, not screen)is almost broken...due to which the area near right side power button is no more in contact with bottom .. In simple words, it looks like that connection with bold/nut is no more there, i.e loooose..... but service guy told me that some kind of plastic part inside laptop is broken due to which it appears looose..

For touchpad, the guy told me sony doesnt cover touchpad in warranty plus he told me that i might be using oil in my hairs and during working on laptop, i might have touched my hairs which caused the touchpad to go faulty .... lol, I dont use oil at all....
I think much better explanation would have been that quality is cheap and thus due to usage, the area have become flat.

I remeber when I had a problem with Dell laptop, those guys immidiately replaced the parts without a single hassle... Looks like I will go for either HP or dell for my next laptop purchase...

Yeah, question for you, your touchpad has also become flat due to usage?

I have a vaio e series... sounds like you're pushing way way WAY too hard on the touchpad. Sony should still cover it but it sounds like it's your fault >_> sorry

I use it for like 5 to 7 hrs daily for browsing etc. Its obvious it has become flat because of usage, but I am thinking why doesnt sony cover it like dell :)
