Hello everybody. This is my first post on here and I'm am looking to purchase my first laptop. My parents plan on putting towards 500 towards a new computer for me since I was accepted into Governer's Honors School this summer. I am looking to buy a good portable notebook that would be able to do all the basics, nothing majorly CPU intensive. I plan on buying a new powerful notebook during college.

My question is, should I buy the E series with the i3 for around $650; or should I buy the slightly more expensive Y series laptop which is much more portable. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
