Hello, my very 1st post here.
I've been using IBM/Lenovo for many years, now it's time to change, so i look for a new Sony Vaio.

Have been looking around and thinking of getting one of the E-Series laptop, but which one should I choose:
    - EA with 14" screen 16:9 format
    - EB with 15.5" screen

or there is another version with 17.3" screen but it sounds too big and also too heavy for a laptop (3.3 kg)-

I dont use laptop for gaming or it's required to be a light weight at all since i will most of the time use it at home and I have another netbook for travel purpose.
Also i normally just use it for internet, picture editing, Office or so.

Are there any other models in other series that might be alternative choice as well?

First, if you're braving the Sony waters, you should know this: their service is terrible. Sony is probably the worst of any computer manufacturer. Their products are typically excellent, but you better bank on them not breaking or having any problems, because the service experience will be an absolute nightmare.

If you are just using this machine for light use (like internet, picture editing, office), I would recommend staying clear of Sony altogether. There are many cheaper alternatives in the market than Sony (why not stick with Lenovo?). But maybe you want a premium screen for your photo editing? If so, I would recommend the Sony Vaio F, which you can get available with a FHD screen. It's going to be a bit bigger than the EB but smaller than the EC.

Luckily for me, there is a Sony Style store in a mall about 15 miles from my house (similar to Apple stores) and repairs and such are done in house. Never needed to use the warranty, but because of this, I don't have a problem buying Sony.

Maybe the OP has a Sony Style store nearby where work/face-to-face customer service is in the open.
