    Hi
Has anyone experienced problems regarding "banding" in photoshop sc3-4 on the new vaio f series (i7 core, nvidia 330m).
When I try to do transparent gradients (from black to transparent) it looks really messed up. Instead of a smooth gradient I get a big black spot and maybe 10 shades of gray!!! can anyone help me!?

I haven't had any photoshop issues with my vaio. Perhaps this is not a problem with the computer itself but rather the program, or the user.

The "banding" only shows when working in photoshop . It's only a 8 bit jpeg but this shouldn't be a problem. I have never encountered this problem on other computers... Can it be the colorsettings or maybe the GPU?

He he, found out what the problem was! it was vaio's color setting (in the vaio control center) that was "overruling" the photoshop color setting. Just click on "do not apply color mode" and everything's back to normal ;)
