Hey guys, I dropped my laptop recently. After rebooting, the "blue screen of death" flashes for about a half a second and then right before the windows login screen, the system reboots. This happens nonstop and I have tried in Safe Mode and every other mode.

My cousin is an IT Technician so he knows his stuff and has helped me with my computer problems in the past successfully. We ran several diagnostic tools and the laptop passes many of the tests that make us very confused. He determined that the most likely problem is the Hard Drive because of the way it fell.

Now, the only problem is finding the proper hard drive to replace it. I am pretty sure of all the specs, and I am thinking of getting a Fujitsu Hard Drive as it looks like the most compatible with the original hard drive.

Does anyone have any information regarding a good place to get laptop hard drives (I like newegg right now) and if there is a place that can tell me exactly what company HD I need for the Sony FE series.

    Thanks.

Most 2.5" drives would fit in your laptop. I personally prefer Hitachi for notebook drives. BTW, have you tried reinstalling the OS? It seems to me like a corrupt MFT or some missing/corrupt system file.

I replaced my original FE hard drive with a Fujitsu 120GB 5,400 drive immediately upon arrival.
And it has been working flawlessly.
In my case I bought this from a shop in Europe.

Yes, we tried reinstalling Windows XP and right before it finishes...it always crashes.

Thanks for the info. I will tell my cousin that ASAP.
