Sony FE (with Nvidia 7400) Not available in Any Retail store???

i've looked high and low, best buy, circuit city, compusa, among others...and i cant find an FE that features the Nvidia 7400(all have the crappy intel GMA 950)

So like ... SUCKY ... i've only actualy called a few of these stores, the rest i looked online, they have the FE, they just dont have it with the Nvidia 7400 ... so like, does any one know why this is? or maybe i'm not looking hard enough?

i'm more inclined to buy from a retail store, that way i have it in my hand when the cash is laid down...i dislike the idea of paying an extra hundred for somthing that might not even get shipped untill a month from when i purchase it....

 

You'll only be able to get a pre-configured model in a store. The FE is a pretty new laptop, I'm sure that more than one version of the FE will be offered. The $1,899 one on sonystyle.com looks promising.

 

yeah i was looking at that one, but i was hoping i could go and pick it up, but all the preconfigured models i've found dont offer the 7400, thats all...

 

I noticed the same thing too. Everywhere I check (from Sonystyle Canada to Best Buy's American site), the SZ is the only preconfigured model that comes with GeForce 7400 graphics. Don't know, maybe Sony's trying to meet the demand of SZ laptops by downgrading the FE for the time being?

 

i didn't think of that, maybe thats true...if so it'll piss me off...but oh well...i guess i will -have- to buy it from the website, but i'll be ****ed if i dont go to a store and manhandle the hell out of one before i purchase it Hehe...
