    Hey,

I live in Vancouver, Canada and I've been looking at the Sony FE both online and in stores and it always only comes with Intel Integrated Graphics!! Even on Sonystyle.ca you cannot customize it to have a dedicated GPU! I am unable to order from the US store because I don't know anyone that lives down there that could bring it to Canada for me.

So... have any of you fellow Canadians been able to get a Sony FE with a dedicated GPU???

    Thanks!!

Its not available anywhere except Best Buy which has the same models as SonyStyle. Thats why I went for SZ.

sonystyle.ca said FE570 got 160G 4200rpm in "spec", when you click "compare" with other models; it said 100G 5400rpm!
may be they just miss out the NVIDIA7400 in the spec.?

some of the sony us site also got conflicts: look at FE590PB

    learningcenter.sony.us/assets/Computers/Notebooks/FE/specifications.html

go down to the store, check the FE to see it real don't come with the NVIDIA.

Why don't you order from US? Isn't there an international warranty?

bran, the international warranty comes as an option in the US. You have to pay extra for it.

    Sony always overcharge Canadian customers.

SO if I were to get a vaio from sonystyle.ca or sony store in canada, I won't be able to get service when I am in US?

I thought they have service centers around the world? LOL....

Coz i am planning to get a laptop in canada and I will be moving to the states in 3 months.

    Hi Battlecat,

Like you, I also live in Vancouver, and I've been dragging myself down to the Sony store repeatedly to discuss the possibility of importing the FE590 (with the GeForce card), but they all said that it is unlikely. However, I do see a lot of old FS series left in stock, many of them have the older GeForce 6400 - I assumed that it is because they have not sold out their FS series yet, hence they can't bring in the FE series that are of the same 'class'.

I've been told that ordering from the US is really troublesome, and you do have to pay extra. Furthermore, the warranty/service plans will not work in Canada.

I suppose that I will end up getting an SZ160 after all.
