I have a Sony FS-760/w notebook and I am having a few issues with the mouse and cursor. More particularly:

    1. I cannot get the "double-click" functionality to work. Whenever I go into the mouse set-up and try to configure the right or left button for "double-click", nothing happens. There is a "test area" for double-click speed in the setup, and it will not function either. I have tried everything. I looked on the Sony website for updated software, but had no success.

    2. Whenever I move the cursor (i.e., arrow pointer) on to any folder on my desktop, it automatically highlights the folder so that only one click is necessary to open it. I am used to double-clicking on my old Toshiba M35 to open folders, etc., and this is driving me nuts. Is this related to the mouse setup (i.e., the double-click functionality)?

    Any help is appreciated.

Does your touchpad use the Synaptics software? If so, try reinstalling the drivers.
