I'm really hoping someone can help me out here. I have a Sony FS series laptop running Vista Ultimate. However the sony drivers for the FN keys do not work, infact, non of the sony laptop drivers work on vista.

I use my laptop at collage often so I need the batteries to last, which isnt possible if the brightness is constantly set at 100%.

Could anyone please help me to either get the FN keys working or provide me a way to turn down my brightness?

I have tried all the new sony drivers on the vaio website but they simply dont work.

    thanks

    Smidth,

Please reference this thread detailing instructions for obtaining and installing drivers for Sony computers running Windows Vista. The workaround also works for additional models, not just the FE.

    Thank you,

However, I tried the instruction in that thread and it doesnt work. After installation of the Event Service Driver and dll drivers the laptop restarts and I get an error msg saying that the battery isnt installed correctly, then the computer shuts down.
