    Brain,

It seems that you know something about upcoming upgrades to the Sony FS series line... Exactly what upgrades are coming? Can you share what CPU and GPU upgrades are coming, and while you might not have a release date, do you have a time frame or range? Any word if the system will be upgraded to use the DDR2 memory?

Any and all info is truly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Hkings,

While I'm certainly not Brain, but I can do give u some insight. I've officially returned my SONY FS550 just to wait for the new one to come out. I have scoured around the net lately to search for a single bit of information about the new FS model, FS600+, and now I just know that it would be pretty much the same as the FS500 series, except the hardware mpg encoder. Correct me if I'm wrong here. The release date is on the 6th of May, so there's no reason why I cant wait for another two weeks.

I return the FS550 for many reasons but typically because its port replicator sucks. The port replicator for the FS600 series has remote control and tv tuner function which is something that i really like. The FS600 screen is expected to be the same but with higher resolution, 1600 x 1200 or something. The laptop will still rely on the new centrino SONOMA and DDR 333mhz. I dont know why Sony still will not make any change and use the DDR2 for god sake. That's all i know about the upcoming model for now. You should go to google and search for "Sony FS640" fs680, fs660.

I hope some of the wise folks in here can give us some more information regarding this upcoming model.

    Ciao,
