    Hi,

I am considering purchasing one of these vs the Toshiba M45. I haven't found many user reviews on the sony FS series. I would love to hear about problems with or praises for these laptops. I am not really into gaming, but need to manipulate large images (200MB+) in photoshop quickly. All comments are apprecieated. Thanks!

    Hi,

I am in a similar situation as you and one thing is puzzling me,
why there is no option for Win XP PRO in FS570 series.
Is there anyway to buy a XP Home and upgrade (from Sony or MS) to XP PRO?

    Thanks,

    Marcos

    Marcos,

I'm not sure either, if they do offer XP Pro the model will most likely be called FS570P or something.

I'm going to be ordering a FS570 in a few days. I think this model will be out of stock most places soon. I was on Amazon.com Saturday and it was #35 on the top computer sellers list and today it jumped to #19.

It's also the #1 seller for Sony laptops at Amazon, I would just buy yours right now and worry about upgrading later.

They have $100 rebate from Sony plus $150 rebate from Amazon before 3/15

Use the A9 1.57% discount with the Free shipping option and there's no tax (unlike Sony's website).

I figure you should be able to pick this bad boy up for a little over $1600 if you follow my game plan.

the latch on mine (as well as five other users) has already broken and sony is claiming it will take 10 days to repair. the screen also makes a buzzing sound when the brightness is turned down, which sony also promised to repair. as of today, i can't recommend the FS series, though I can recommend the A series without any reservations.
