    Hi everyone,

I ordered a FW290 (with ATI 3650) yesterday. I read a lot here that ECO screen is really lousy. My budget is a bit limited, and I need to stretch my budget to get FullHD ($100 more). I am not very picky with screen, normally. I will use the laptop for occasional travel, when I might want to use the word document.

    Anyone can comment on:
    1) how ECO compared to screen from other brands (Dell, HP), etc?
    2) how is the battery life (I have only the standard 6-cell battery) for both ECO and FullHD, with the dedicated graphic card...

    Thanks a lot.

Get the FullHD screen, it is much better in quality and brightness, I have compared both (Eco full hd) and prefer the fullHD and the benefit of the bigger resolution. I also think it is slightly better than some dells screens, but then around the fw were only sonys and the other brands were on the other side of the bench in the store.

When I choose power saver and have the lowest brightness, my battery lasts my around 2 hrs and 20 in give or take.

'I also think it is slightly better than some dells screens'.

    Which one, the ECO?

Yes, stretch a little and get the FullHD, u won't regret it. The ECO is not bad but not great either. I didn't like it at all. Low brightness and bad viewing angles.
